Carton Conveyor Systems
Axiom designs, manufactures and installs carton conveyor systems that move cartons around your warehouse, route them through picking zones, check the weight and label them, and deliver them to dispatch. Built in the UK to our own designs.
Faster Picking, Fewer Errors
A carton conveyor system is a materials handling solution built specifically to move cardboard cartons through the pick, pack and dispatch process. Cartons are launched onto the conveyor at the point of erection, routed around the warehouse to visit each required picking zone, weighed and checked for accuracy, and delivered to packing or palletising for dispatch.
Axiom carton conveyor systems are built around our standard range of belt, roller and Zero-Line Pressure conveyors, and can be integrated with carton erectors, sealing machines, check weighers, labellers and the controls and software needed to make it all work as a single system.
Key Features:
- Goods-to-man picking via the conveyor
- Multiple carton sizes on one line
- Auto carton erection, sealing & labelling
- WMS & host system integration
- RF hand-held scanning
- Re-circulation when a zone is busy
Reduce Operating Costs
Core Components
- Belt, roller & ZLP conveyors – The backbone. Axiom combines belt, roller and ZLP types to suit the cartons, throughputs and footprint of each project.
- Labelling systems – Automatic labelling units that apply the courier shipping label to each carton at the right point on the line.
- Carton erection & sealing – In-line machines that erect, fold and seal cartons in the size chosen by the volumetric software.
- Dynamic check weighing – Inline weighing comparing actual against expected weight. Failed cartons are flagged for the operator.
- WMS & controls – Axiom-built software interfaces with host systems like Unifix’s AS400 and drives the routing logic on the conveyor.

Case Study
Unifix National Distribution Centre
Axiom designed, manufactured and installed a complete conveyor picking solution and warehouse management system at Unifix’s NDC in Smethwick. The £500,000 project replaced a manual, paper-based pick that couldn’t keep up with 6pm order cut-offs. Full case study.
- Goods-to-man picking with cartons routed to the operator’s zone
- Automatic cartonisation by volume and weight
- Cheapest-route selection between parcel carrier and pallet
- WMS interfacing with Unifix’s AS400 host system
- RF hand-held scanning for goods-in, picking, audits and inventory
Why Choose Axiom
British design & manufacture: The vast majority of equipment is built and assembled in the UK, keeping lead times short and aftercare close.
In-house engineering: Mechanical design, controls and software all handled by Axiom, so conveyor, WMS and picking work as one solution.
Volumetric cartonisation: Optimised carton fill and cheapest-route selection are built in. Fewer half-empty boxes leaving the warehouse.
Long-term support: Annual maintenance contracts keep the equipment serviced and your engineers trained on the system.
Built around your operation: Configured around your zones, carton sizes, host system and growth plans.
-
Can the system handle different carton sizes?
Yes. Volumetric software selects the right carton from a defined range, and the conveyor and check weigh stations are sized to handle the full set.
-
Does it integrate with our existing host system?
Yes. Axiom's own warehouse management software has been interfaced with host systems including Unifix’s bespoke AS400 to receive goods-in data, stock files and orders.
